Why I created this course

I'm Stephen Tracy. For years, rest made me anxious.

From working in high-performance environments to building my own business, I carried the constant sense that I should always be productive. Rest came with guilt.

I'd go on a trip and spend the whole time wanting to get back to my to-do list, while also feeling frustrated that I couldn't simply enjoy being away.

What changed wasn't a better routine or improved self-management. The ambition and the need for rest were both still there.

What changed was learning a way of relating to inner tension that I'd never been taught.

As I developed a new relationship with what in me believed productivity kept me safe, rest became something I could allow, and eventually enjoy.

Since then I've worked with founders, creatives, and professionals navigating the same tension between ambition and rest.

Grounded Ambition is the distillation of that shift. It draws from Aletheia coaching, IFS and parts work, and somatic practice — shaped into a five-week self-paced course designed to work with the tension, not bypass it.

It's neither. Grounded Ambition is a self-paced educational course — a structured set of capacities you build at your own pace, drawing on Aletheia coaching, IFS and parts work, and somatic practice.

If you're looking for the relational dimension — someone accompanying you through what surfaces — that's what 1:1 coaching is for, and course completion includes a complimentary 1:1 coaching conversation.

That's often the entry point for this course rather than a reason to skip it. Most meditation and self-help work asks you to quiet, regulate, or observe what's happening — useful, but it can leave the underlying tension intact and even amplify the sense that you're failing at rest.

Here, you learn to relate to the part of you that won't stop — listening for what it's protecting rather than overriding it. When that part feels heard, the tension gradually softens on its own. It's a slower change than a technique, and a more durable one.

The course is structured across 5 weeks, with each week introducing a new capacity and a guided practice. The teaching videos total about 3 hours. In practice, most people spend 60–90 minutes per week. There's no set schedule — the pacing is yours.
